A great send off for our "pilgrims" from St. Mary's and St. Martha's visiting the Pope this week. Safe travels to all! We will pray for you while you are gone and know you will be praying for our intentions while you are there.

Exciting New Bible Study in our Collaborative!

Both St. Martha and St. Mary parishes are invited, along with others from outside our Collaborative, to participate in a Bible Study led by Dr. John Clabeaux.  We’re blessed to have John Clabeaux as a member of St. Mary Parish. He received his doctorate in New Testament and Christian Origins at Harvard University in 1983, and he teaches Sacred Scripture at Pope St. John XXIII National Seminary in Weston, MA.

This course will be based on his 13-part series produced by CatholicTV.  CatholicTV has provided us with his 13 shows in DVD format.  The series is called "Beginnings: The Old Testament Speaks to Us."  The topic is important because one cannot really understand the New Testament without understanding many things about the Old Testament.

Sessions will be held Wednesday nights beginning on Ash Wednesday, February 10th at 7:30 PM (or immediately after the 7:00 Mass).  We will meet in the conference room of St. Mary Rectory and Parish Center.

We will always begin with prayer, but then go right to the 26 minute presentation by John Clabeaux on the DVD (as John says, this way he cannot speak "on and on")!  At the end of the video there will be a chance for everyone to ask him about things they do not understand - or that sound new and unfamiliar.  We will also look at some of the main Bible passages or charts that were briefly presented in the video.  We will end strictly at 9:00.

Why not give it a try as a special means of observing the season of Lent?

Brick order are still being accepted!

We are still taking brick orders for bricks to be placed in the garden around our beautiful new statue of Mary to be completed this summer.  Order forms are in the parish office and near the church entrances.  Remember, a brick can make a very nice gift for a special person in your life, especially for Baptisms, First Communions, Confirmations and holidays!  They make a lasting wedding gift as well, a nice way to honor the beautiful couple on their wedding day!
